Day 155 ‘Gorillaz Camden Roundhouse Friday 30th April’ – 30/04/10

This was one of the most amazing concerts I have been to. The Camden Roundhouse is a fantastic intimate venue, I felt privileged to have tickets to see the Gorillaz play here being able to get so up close and personal (great for the photos). The concert was SO good, and my word skills are SO poor i will quote from the Guardians Review of the event.

“You feel almost glutted with sensation. Even if the screen were to have malfunctioned, this remarkable event would still have been an extravagant musical layer cake; everything else is just frosting.”

With guests inlcuding Mos Def, Bobby Womac, Mick Jones, Paul Simonon, De la Soul, Shaun Ryder, Little Dragon’s Yukimi Nagano,  MCs Bashy, Kano and  the Syrian National Orchestra it was a unique show on the night!

Even more exciting, before the gig we grabbed a bite to eat at a little Italian Restaurant just across the street, and assumed we were  sat next to some hardcore Gorillaz Fans. They were all dressed up with hats and outfits in keeping with the gorillaz, it was not until they came on stage we realised we had sat next to the band including the legendary Clash guitarists of  Mick Jones and Paul Simonon.
