Day 230: Something Old Something New

DAY0230 Something Old Something New 781x950 Day 230: Something Old Something New

Day 23o ‘Something Old Something New’ – 14/07/10

I thought todays shot was a little to similar to yesterday, as it had a retro feel I thought it might spice it up to revisit it in the Polariod maker i used on Day 43! I love these old sail boats they seem to charter up and down the Thames, and the dramatic light and skyline seemed to fit the mood perfectly.

Day 157: Feeling Poorly :-(

DAY0157 Feeling Poorly 712x950 Day 157: Feeling Poorly : (

Day 157 ‘Feeling Poorly :-( ’ – 02/05/10

We had a bit of a worried morning, as out little Maltese Terrier seemed very out of sorts this morning. But a quick emergency vets trip and some blood test later and our minds were put at ease. Here she is later on in the afternoon being all floppy and sorry for herself, and milking us for all the extra love and attention she was getting.

Day 154: Thames Pier

DAY0154 Thames Pier 950x712 Day 154: Thames Pier

Day 154 ‘Thames Pier’ – 29/04/10

This is my second ‘landscape blur’ post, am loving this style introduced to me by Mr Ray Rhodes! I’m finding it is great for capturing some locations that i’ve been trying to photograph for a while. This old pier is very close to my home, but i’ve not found a way to photograph it sucesfully before. But this seems to really work well as a blur shot. I am definitely going to have a few more of these shots coming up, as they seem to find a nice balance between my love of detail, but desire for abstraction.

Day 130: Shoreditch Graffiti

DAY0130 Shoreditch Graffiti 712x950 Day 130: Shoreditch Graffiti

Day 130 ‘Shoreditch Graffiti’– 05/04/10

I’m surprised how little Graffiti I have captured on this project so far, as it is something to both love and hate in the urban environment. I thought this patch of Graffiti in Shoreditch (hence the literal title) looked fantastic, and I have tried to capture it along with it’s surroundings. I deliberately used some selective colouring to get the graffiti to stand out from the rest of the environment.

Day 122: I Am Green Today

DAY0122 I Am Green Today 950x712 Day 122: I Am Green Today

Day 122 ‘I Am Green Today’– 28/03/10

I love the color green, think it is beautiful in photos. So today i have reverted to a simple detail shot of this green wall on the banks of the river Thames near my home.  I am still trying to mix up the photos i am taking and posting along the 365 to keep it interesting, some seem to be real hits, others big misses….hopefully at least a few people will appreciate the beauty of green.

Day 97: My Two-Penneth

DAY0097 My Two Penneth 950x534 Day 97: My Two Penneth

Day 97 ‘My Two-Penneth’– 03/03/10

Another ‘At My Desk’ shot, love the way my desk seems to work as a perfect light box (almost) for when inspiration runs short around me! I noticed this battered and bruised two pence coin in my change, and thought it might make for an interesting shot?

We are supposed to be moving offices soon, so i am taking my opportunities where i can. I have a feeling that i won’t have the same natural light when i move, so it may be an end to the ‘At My Desk’ shots!

Day 42: This Cold City

This Cold City

Day 42 ‘This Cold City’ – 07/01/10

It was difficult to choose whether to post this in colour or black and white today. In the end my love of Black and White won the day because i like the way it enhanced the silhouetted city scape in the background. I snapped this on my way into work this morning, and had to play around with the manual focus to get the snow in focus at the front, and ten bluring out onto the horizon. Overall i’m pretty pleased with the result.

Day 27:Broken Glass

Broken Glass

Day 27 ‘Broken Glass’ – 23/12/09

I may yet regret not taking a plethora of more Christmassy photo’s as i near the end of the Project 365 challenge. But i really like this broken bottle i found on the banks of the Thames on my way into work. I’d love to know what the bottle was for originally?
