Day 265: Still a Long Way to Paddle
Day 265 ‘Still a Long Way to Paddle’ – 18/08/10
So to mark the beginning of my last 100 countdown (from 265 to 365) London offered me up a beautiful analogy! I spotted this canoe paddling his way down the Thames, and felt that this fitted very well the idea of the journey i have done so far with my 265 photos, and the journey left to go for the last 100!
Day 263: Life is Wonderful
Day 263 ‘Life is Wonderful’ – 16/08/10
Hiding from the rain on our way back to our hotel we stumbled through St Germain in Paris, which is currently my favourite part of this beautiful city. Todays two photos are off a some graffiti i found in the back streets that i thought was absolutely fantastic.
Day 263: Rue De Grafitti
Day 263 ‘Rue De Graffit’ – 16/08/10

Day 235: Brighton Squares 2
Day 235 ‘Brighton Squares 2’ – 19/07/10
A photo of some of the graffiti near Brighton Marina. I am a sucker for graffiti, although have not taken all that many photos so far on my project 365.
Day 224: Another Day Reflected
Day 224 ‘Another Day Reflected’ – 08/07/10
I feel a bit bad, as this seems a little similar to recent posts, but the water in the docks near work are not often this calm to take good reflection photos. I deliberately took the detail down on the shot to give it a softer more dreamy look.
Day 218: This Way That Way
Day 218 ‘This Way That Way’ – 02/07/10
I’m pretty sure i’ve been tempted to take this before, like the square crop and the slightly retro processing for today. It was also my first day out with my OM-1N…unfortunately i don’t think i loaded the film properly so my first roll of photos is a complete failure!
Day 215: Going Retro
Day 215 ‘Going Retro’ – 29/06/10
I’ve been know to do (buy) some pretty impulsive things. This Olympus OM-1N was picked up this weekend after talking to Beaj (http://beajpix.com) and deciding i really should at least try my hand at a classic film camera. So today my new 1970′s camera arrived, and whilst i expected to be unconvinced, and was thinking about sending this back. I’m currently really excited to get out and take some photos with this. I have some film arriving shortly, so will hopefully be posting up some results in the not too distant future. Worst case i hopefully can sell this back on for not much less than i paid for it….but then hopefully i will be getting many years pleasure out of this old classic!
Day 203: Globe Wharf
Day 203 ‘Globe Wharf’ – 17/06/10
Somewhat of a departure from recent photos, here is a shot of the Globe Wharf building as one of the sail boats that runs along the Thames was going past. This was a decisive moment, camera in my pocket shot, and maybe another nice reminder of the better sides of the part of East London we live in.
Day 188: Modern Life Is Still Rubbish
Day 188 ‘Modern Life Is Still Rubbish’ – 02/06/10
Not sure if this will be a 2 day theme…or maybe something i can extend for a week as a bit of a mental breather from trying to think up something new each day. But i quite like the idea of letting myself loose on some ‘building’ shots of Canary Wharf, albeit today i had a it more inspiration and hard a hard choice i deciding what to post up. Once i complete this project i think i will have a good couple of hundred photos that are currently filed as ‘Project 365 Almost’, some which looking back through them i really like.
Day 185: 26 Feet
Day 185 ‘26 Feet’ – 30/05/10
Wasn’t really happy with either of the photos i’ve posted up for today, this shot is of a sign on the wall of one of Warwick’s many museums. I though the colours and lines worked quite nicely together.
Project 365 (Part 1) the Book
Project 365 (Part 1) the Book – 27/05/10
I felt I had to do something with all those photo’s even if I am the only person that buys a copy of one half of my magnum opus! Other than a couple of prints on my wall already, this is making sure that these photos live in more than cyberspace.
50 Percent Complete
50 Percent Complete – 25/05/10
Today marks the completion of 50% of my project 365. Again another tough month, finding inspiration every day is proving very challenging, especially when work gets busy and you start feeling tired. However this month we finally got a much needed holiday to The Amalfi Coast in Italy which really helped. Also during this period i discovered ‘intentional camera movement’ which has been used for a number of shots (and bonus shots). Other significant milestones that have been acheived are:-
- 227 Photos Posted
- 1125 Comments on My Blog
- 8905 Pages Visited on My Blog
- 4320 Photos Taken on My Canon Powershot S90
Again, whilst it was another tough month, this has produced some of my favourite photos of the project so far.
