Bubble Trouble

Still working my way through the photos that i took on Steve Davey’s Mastering Composition course. Whilst not all of them are particularly in my normal style, perhaps part of purpose of taking a course, they have been more focused on capturing an entire scene. This shot which has been slightly retro processed, was trying to capture a moment on the south bank with the crowd interacting with the bubble blower!

London Cyclist: City Limits

I was delighted to get hold of the June – July edition of London Cyclist today, to find out that the 20mph photos i took for them a while back made the cut for their City Limits article. It was really nice in particular to see the double page leading shot, which is to date the most impressive photo of mine that i have seen in print, that i haven’t personally printed and paid for I will definitely try my hand at another assignment for them again if i get the chance, now that i know my afternoon wandering the backstreets of the City were not wasted.

Sardinia

This is a small gallery of some of the photos i took on holiday in Sardinia that I have entered as a portfolio into the Guardian Camera Club June Tourism contest.

Out to Sea

Finally started to post up some of my photos from my trip to Sardinia. This was shot on the walk out to Chia beach, i thought the view was amazing with the boardwalk and the spit of sand in the distance between the inland water and the sea! Not sure if this is toooo processed, but i really liked the stark black and white for this shot.

Greenwich Photo Walk

Last week I lead a photo walk around greenwich for our work photography club, this is a small selection of the photos from the walk. Overall the day seemed to work out very well, with the light being mostly very good, low tide allowing us down onto the beach and a film crew just happening to be shooting whilst we were in the university. The sunset from the park was a little disappointing, but the was easily forgotten after a few belgium beers in the Greenwich Union!

Almost 365: Planet ICM

This planet was made from one of the intentional camera movement photos i took of the Thames during my Project 365. The original was an extremely minimalistic ICM which i thought might work nicely as an ICM Planet, not sure i have seen one of these before?

x100: Test Shot 2

I promise to get out and take some ‘real’ photos soon, but could not resist snapping this shot of our little Maltese Pup this morning! I realise i will have to watch out that my blog doesn’t just become a sequence of dog photos! This is the first photo i have taken at ISO200 and i was really impressed with the level of detail that was present at 100% crops of the image. Starting to feel more and more confident that i made the right choice waiting for the Fuji X100 to come along as the upgrade for my little Cannon S90.

Almost 365: Commuter Cycling

This shot was taken walking into work, and I have revisited it as my colleague at work is looking for photos for submission to LCC. SO this was my shot for the ‘Commuter Cycling’ category.

Storm at Sea

I guess this is the partner image for Rain at Sea, as it was taken at the same time when we were on holiday in Amalfi. I was just tidying through my photos, and saw this one unprocessed in the folder. I had a little play arround, and decided this looked good (to me) as a very simple brooding black and white image. Probabally not to everybody’s taste, but i really like this!

Day 321 ‘Night Light’ – 13/10/10

So close to the end now, but inspiration and enthusiasm are starting to wane, that said am excited to have an image selected for the Londonist Thames Barrier To Teddington exhibition in London. It actaully one of my first photos I took with my old Canon G10 after a photography lesson for my birthday a couple of years back, Tower Bridge Redux.
